Lifestyle News: A Saudi Arabia-based jewellery company, Al Romaizan Gold & Jewellery, has created history by designing the heaviest gold dress in the world. Named the “Dubai Dress,” it has entered the Guinness World Records. The masterpiece is currently on display at the Sharjah Watch & Jewellery Expo. With a weight of 10.0812 kilograms, this dress is made of pure 21-carat gold. The price is nearly 4.6 million dirhams, equal to ₹11 crore in Indian currency.
The Dubai Dress is not just about heavy gold but also about its fine details. It includes a crown weighing 398 grams, a necklace of 8.8 kilograms, earrings weighing 134 grams, and a hiyar piece of 738 grams. Each part is carefully crafted to highlight the Emirati culture and artistic excellence. These features make the dress a one-of-a-kind piece of art and jewellery combined.
The design of the Dubai Dress is inspired by Emirati traditions. Its carvings and patterns are drawn from cultural stories, while colourful gemstones are placed to give it an artistic finish. The dress is not only jewellery but also a tribute to the deep roots of Emirati heritage. By mixing traditional motifs with modern touches, designers have made it globally attractive.
According to Mohsen Al Dhaibani, Regional Deputy Manager of Al Romaizan Gold, this creation shows the UAE’s ambition to stand as a global leader in luxury jewellery. He explained that the Dubai Dress proves the creative power of Emirati artisans. Its exhibition at Sharjah shows why Dubai is becoming a hotspot for jewellery lovers from across the world.
The gold dress was not the only highlight of the expo. A gold bicycle, priced at around 1.5 million dirhams, also caught visitors’ attention. Both the bicycle and the dress became the centre of attraction, turning the exhibition into a festival of luxury. Visitors clicked photos, shared videos, and made these exhibits go viral across social media platforms.
The Sharjah Watch & Jewellery Expo is one of the largest jewellery exhibitions in the Middle East. More than 500 exhibitors from over 10 countries, including India, Italy, Turkey, the US, Russia, Japan, China, Singapore, and Malaysia, joined this year. With nearly 1,800 designs on display, the event proved that Dubai and Sharjah are now global hubs for creativity and innovation in jewellery.
